Drinking Jesus’ Cup
Matthew 20:23
“You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said to them. “Can you drink the cup I am going to drink?” “We can,” they answered. Jesus said to them, “You will indeed drink from my cup, but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father.”
The question is, “Will you drink of His cup?” Drinking The Messiah’s cup involves laying down your life, dedicating your complete life to YAH even to the point of death. It means that you are willing to go into and serve the least of these. You are willing to minister when no one else will. It means pouring yourself out to all-emptying yourself. Have you ever traveled for The Lord? And it also means being broken for God. When people persecute you, standing strong in the faith. Drinking His cup means walking as He walked. He was humble and meek. Jesus cared for the people. Drinking Jesus’ cup means that you will have to clean your mouth, it involves being in constant prayer with The Most High giving thanks. The heart of Yahusha was for the hungry, the outcast, the naked, the sick, and those in prison. Are you willing to get dirty? To drink His cup means that you will have to serve everybody, and wash their feet. You have to become an unmovable tree where everyone comes to lodge in. To Drink His cup you will have to lay aside all malice and bickering and come to agreements. It means that you will have to do your best to follow YAH’s laws, statutes and commandments. It means even though you are first, putting yourself last. Can you drink of this Cup?
