Did you know that God has promised to be merciful to our unrighteousness? In Hebrews 8:12 it reads,

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

God will no longer remember us according to our sins. He shall not know them. This is all apart of the new covenant that the believers enter into when they accept Christ. God knows that while we are in this fleshly body, we need help from Him to be accounted righteous. The body is subject to sin, because of the fall. We can’t go a day without sinning by thought, action, word or deed. We sin by the things we see or hear. It is important to acknowledge these things to God, so that he may place His mercy over our unrighteousness. God won’t hold you accountable when you follow His outline of forgiveness. He has an order of how we should live, and that includes when we fall. We must repent and be sorrowful over our sin. He doesn’t like us to continue in sin. After we repent we turn to Him. This is letting Him know that we are going to follow His direction and not our own. He is ready to acquit all those who are heartfully repentant. He has already promised that when we do these things, that He will be merciful to our unrighteousness, and will remember our sins and iniquities no more.
