Did you know that God calls you the light of the world? In Matthew 5:14 it reads,
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
What God meant is that we should be a shining example of His goodness. That is how many people come to Christ due to our goodness. Folks will be drawn to the light as a moth is to a candle. We are to be ensamples of what it means to be Christ.. If we aren’t examples, then who will be? God has entrusted us as being His light in this dark world. When we do good works we are a shining light. It is our duty to let the world know that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that seek Him. He commands us to let our light shine. If we hide our light, God accounts us as being wicked servants, as He has given us Christ freely. Freely you have received, and freely you should give. Are you letting your light shine by spreading the good news of the gospel? Are you digging your talent in the ground and hiding it? Let your light shine, lest it should be put out. We are to shine our light so people can see, and give God the glory.
