Did you know that those who God saves are not who you would think? He doesn’t look for those who have everything or the rich and famous; he looks for those with a broken and contrite spirit. God chooses those out of the world who are downtrodden, humble, and poor. He takes no delight in the riches of the world, nor can a rich man give a ransom for his life, for it is precious, that he should not see death. Many of the prophets of the bible were misunderstood. They seemed like wild men to most, but in the sight of The Most High, they were beloved; he had them do hard things, but they did it and in due time reaped a reward. Have you ever walked in a public place, and seen all the people and wondered who were and who weren’t saved. It is a great mystery. God chooses the weak things of the earth to confound the wise. The whole earth is upside down, kings walk on the ground while slaves ride horses. In the book of Wisdom of Solomon 5:2 it reads, “When they see it, they shall be troubled with terrible fear, and shall be amazed at the strangeness of his salvation, so far beyond all that they looked for.” So we see here that the wicked shall not understand the salvation of God’s people. It would be easy for them to understand if He picked the rich and famous of this world, but in due time, He died for those who were without strength. Have you ever passed by a beggar while driving, and wondered, what happened? Maybe God happened! He has a way of anointing, and humbling those who he chooses for a cause. The Most High can do whatever he wants with His servent, but in the end he shall be saved. David once asked, “Why Lord, does it seem the wicked prosper?” He responded that they prosper in this world, but they will soon be cut down like the grass and be no more. Be careful when all seems to be going well with your life, making sure that you are the select rich who will be saved; for God says that he chastise his children. If you are a bastard child, you will go unpunished until the day when the scales will be balanced. The Lord loves honest scales and just weights; everything in the balance belongeth to Him. I ask you, the next time you look at that beggar or the poor, not to despise them in your heart, for they may be another Man’s servant.
