We must believe that God’s commandments are good and righteous. We are required to live according to the Torah to the best o our abilities. We know that Christ perfectly did this for us, but that does not give us free will to do what we want. Our ancestors entered us into a contract that is not void until all is completed. Our faith in Christ’s work is what cleanse us from our transgression of the law when we fall. Falling should not be a habit for those who believe. God has given us more than 600 commandments, and many covenants that we should live by. To understand God’s covenant obligations, consider these key points:

Grace: God’s grace is a fundamental aspect, offering forgiveness and restoration despite failures.

Faithfulness: God promises to remain faithful to His people and their commitments.

Obedience: Followers are called to obey God’s commandments and teachings.

Blessings: God’s covenant includes blessings for those who uphold their end of the agreement.

Consequences: There are consequences for breaking the covenant, including spiritual and communal repercussions.

Community: The covenant often involves a collective responsibility among the community of believers.

God’s covenants aren’t burdensome, but they are life. Here is a list of the covenants that we have entered. We must hold to our obligation to do the covenants les we fall short of entering into glory.

  1. Noahic Covenant: God promises never to flood the earth again, symbolized by the rainbow.
  2. Abrahamic Covenant: God promises Abraham land, descendants, and blessings for all nations through him.
  3. Mosaic Covenant: God gives the Israelites the Law at Sinai, establishing them as His chosen people.
  4. Davidic Covenant: God promises David that his lineage will endure forever, leading to the Messiah.
  5. New Covenant: Established through Jesus, offering salvation and a personal relationship with God through faith.
  6. Covenant of Grace: God’s promise of eternal life and grace to all who believe in Jesus Christ.
